‘Corio is proud to be investing in South Korea’s green energy transition’ - CEO

“Corio is proud to be investing in South Korea’s green energy transition,” said Corio Generation CEO Jonathan Cole, at an official ceremony during the state visit of the South Korean President to the UK this week.

Mr Cole and Woojin Choi, Corio’s Head of South Korea, joined South Korea’s Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, at the event to promote bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

South Korea is one of Corio’s strategic markets with 3 GW of projects being developed together with our partners, covering both Busan and BadaEnergy project portfolios.

The 1.5 GW Gray Whale project part of the BadaEnergy portfolio, is expected to be one of the world’s largest floating offshore wind farms.

“With its world-class manufacturing and shipbuilding sectors and its frontrunner status as one of the first countries in Asia to embrace an ambitious carbon neutrality target, South Korea is ideally placed to become a global leader in offshore wind and a regional hub in supply chain collaboration,” said Mr Cole.
